One of my favorite aspects of being a patent lawyer was learning about the most cutting-edge technologies. And I was fortunate to have developed a focus around machine learning in my practice early on. As I wrote about machine learning, I wondered how we could apply it towards our work as patent attorneys, to enhance our ability to serve the most innovative clients. I remember writing the code for our initial summary generator, seeing pages of writing generated with the push of a button, work that otherwise took me hours to complete—I was hooked. In building our products, I hope to share the excitement I felt with my colleagues and friends in the IP world and beyond.
